Roth was transferred after a three-week stay in an "acute" rehab center in Syracuse, where his treatment was focused on regaining as much function as possible. Roth’s wife Denise said, “As of Monday, Mark had regained a little movement in the fingers on his left hand, and a little movement in his left arm, where there had been none. He also has been able to walk up to 100 feet with the assistance of walking devices.”
She also noted there is no long-term prognosis at this time about the level of function Mark will regain, but his doctors are hopeful because he is relatively young and athletic. “But,” she added, "it's going to be a long, slow process."
