Personal: Danny James (D.J.) Archer…nicknamed “Tubby”…enjoys watching and playing sports…has a 20 handicap in golf…attended West Texas A&M, where he won the 2000 Collegiate Championship, and studied general business…has a fear of flying…lists Chris Rock as his favorite actor and Tiger Woods as his favorite athlete. 2004-05: After finishing 25th in the 2003-04 PBA World Point Rankings, had a sluggish 2004-05 season which found him ranked 58th in the 2004-05 PBA World Point Rankings…made 10 match play appearances and ranked 5th on Tour by converting 20 percent of his splits (18-90)…averaged 201.97 in the first half and 208.75 in the second half…went just 2-10 in match play on the season…best finish of the first half was 28th in the 2004 PBA Denver Open; defeated Joe Ciccone, 4-3, in the round of 64 before losing to Pete Weber in the round of 32, 4-1…finished 25th in the 2005 PBA Dallas Open before logging a 16th place finish, his best result of the season, in the 2005 PBA Birmingham Open…two weeks later, was 40th in the 62nd U.S. Open presented by Odor-Eaters, his best finish in a major last season.
Career: Still looking for his first career PBA Tour title…has bowled in 52 events…has cashed in 40 of 52 events…made his lone career TV appearance in the 2004 ABC Masters in Reno, Nev.; lost in the stepladder finals to Mika Koivuniemi, 244-149, taking 4th overall…has made 20 career match play appearances.
