Personal: Chris Barnes… Resides in Flower Mound, Texas with wife Lynda and two children, twins Ryan and Troy… Graduated from Wichita State University in 1992 with a B.A. in Business Management and was First Team All-America in 1990 and '92… Was Collegiate Bowler of the Year in 1992… Was a member of Team USA for four years… Won four gold medals at the American Zone Championships in Costa Rica in 1997… Was the United States Olympic Committee's Athlete of the Year for Bowling in 1994, '96 and '97… Likes to play basketball, golf, baseball and putt-putt and wrestle with his two boys… Would like to be a basketball coach if he was not a professional bowler… Enjoys participating in fantasy football… Wife Lynda is also an accomplished bowler; she is a nine-time Team USA member, and has won two U.S. Amateur championships as well as a World Cup championship.
Career: Owns seven career Denny’s PBA Tour titles including two Major titles… Has won the U.S. Open and the Tournament of Champions, and is now just a World Championship shy of becoming the fifth bowler to win the Triple Crown… In just eight seasons on Tour, has amassed $1,346,367 in career PBA earnings, becoming the fastest player to earn $1,000,000… Reached the milestone in 220 career events, surpassing the previous mark of 253 events by Pete Weber and Jason Couch… Has 13 career second place finishes… Made 12 telecasts in 2000 without a win, a PBA record for most TV appearances in a season without a win… Has cashed in 152 of 180 career events… Is 28-37 in 44 career TV singles appearances, with a 222.11 average… Has made 126 match play appearances.
