Personal: Delmas Perry Ballard Jr…. Resides in North Richland Hills, Texas, with his wife, Carolyn, and his daughter, Alyssa… Nicknamed “Baldo”... If not a bowler, he would like to be an accountant… Bowled in his first league when he was five years old… Favorite TV shows include “That ‘70s Show” and “Married With Children”… Wife, Carolyn, is also a PBA member; she was a 20-time titlist on the now-defunct Professional Women’s Bowling Association (PWBA) Tour and was named the 2001 PWBA Player of the Year.
Career: Won all 12 of his titles in a seven-year span (1987-1993), including four titles in 1991… Won the 1987 U.S. Open, the 1989 Tournament of Champions and the 1993 BPAA U.S. Open, as well as the 1988 ABC Masters, which does not count as an official Denny’s PBA Tour event... Only needs a PBA World Championship crown to complete both the Triple Crown and the Grand Slam… With his first career victory at the '87 Open, he became the first player in the history of professional bowling to win a six-figure first prize ($100,000)…Won back-to-back titles in 1989 and 1991… Became the 11th player in PBA history to surpass $1 million in career earnings in 1994…Has cashed in 259 of 482 career events… Is 30-21 with a 216.29 average in 31 career TV singles appearances.
