Who's Who in Bowling

Roger Bowker Back to list »

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
Prior to 1988, Bowker was predominantly a self-proclaimed “weekend warrior” because of his dominance in the Southern circuit of the PBA Regional Tour. But, Bowker has proven champions can emerge from any level of competition if they can manage to combine experience with desire and talent. In 1988, learned followers in the southeastern United States were not surprised when this part-time Tour player captured the $38,000 winner’s share in the Don Carter’s Greater New Orleans Classic. He has gone on to claim four more titles, the most recent coming at the 1998 Columbia 300 Open (Austin, Texas).

PERSONAL FACTS:
Bowker is a professed "baseball nut" and a huge New York Yankees fan. He has a sports memoribilia collection, with the prized possession being an autographed Don Mattingly baseball and an autographed Walter Payton card from the Chicago Bears Super Bowl championship year of 1986. He is originally from Rockford, IL, and is a fan of the Cubs, and Bulls. Other bowlers are starting to call him "Road Map" because he has been traveling on the road since 1976.
